Simon Jodrell was born and raised in the seaside town of Barry in South Wales. He graduated with a degree in English from Southampton University and upon completion of his PGCE in Bristol and teaching in Hampshire he moved abroad to launch his international teaching career in Taiwan.

Simon held headships in both Malaysia and Egypt prior to joining Dubai British School Emirates Hills in 2012 as Head of Primary where he then moved on to become Principal. He has been part of the schools’ journey in gaining ‘Outstanding’ ratings in both the ‘Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau’ process and ‘British Schools Overseas’ accreditation. While holding these leadership roles Simon completed his MBA with Leicester University and the NPQH from the National College of School Leadership. After 9 years at DBS, Simon is now the Principal of the renowned Jebel Ali School. Simon has a keen interest in Positive Education and is currently studying for a further Master’s Degree in Applied Positive Psychology.
