Joseph Salame

Executive Principal

Joseph Salame is an accomplished educational leader and scholar with extensive experience in school administration, pedagogy, and philosophy. Born in Lebanon, he holds dual Lebanese and Canadian citizenship and was named a Knight in the Order of Academic Palms by the French Minister of Education in February 2020, recognizing his contributions to education and culture.

Education

Joseph Salame graduated from Saint Joseph University in Beirut with degrees in Philosophy (1985) and Lebanese Law (1980), and he also earned a French Law degree in collaboration with the University of Lyon III in 1979. His commitment to lifelong learning is evident in his participation in advanced seminars on education and school management.

Career Highlights

Currently serving as the Principal of the Lycée Libanais Francophone Privé Meydan (LLFPM) in Dubai since 2021, Mr. Salame has held numerous leadership roles, including several terms as the head of the same institution since 2007. His responsibilities have spanned teaching philosophy, mentoring educational management students at Saint Joseph University, and serving as a senior member of educational institutions in Lebanon and Dubai.

Earlier in his career, he taught philosophy, history, and geography at prestigious schools such as Collège Notre-Dame de Jamhour and Collège Saint-Grégoire in Lebanon, where he also held positions in student supervision and administration. Beyond education, he practiced law as a member of the Beirut Bar Association and gained managerial experience during his time in Canada as a bookstore manager.

Under his leadership, LLFPM has advanced its mission of providing a humanistic education grounded in excellence, respect, cultural openness, and critical thinking.

His mission is to cultivate the mind, nurture the heart, and support individuals to shape confident, responsible, and engaged global citizens who use their talents for the common good.

He emphasizes the importance of understanding the history and culture of the UAE, the host country, while fostering Lebanese and French cultures through intercultural, artistic, and sports exchanges with French and Francophone institutions as well as those in the UAE.

Additionally, he advocates for an inclusive educational culture, offering personalized pedagogical support to meet the unique needs of every student.
