Ann is originally from Auckland, New Zealand. She graduated from North Shore Teachers College and then went on to complete a Bachelors Degree in Education and a Masters in Educational Administration at Massey University. After successfully completing her probationary teaching years in New Zealand, Ann then spent the next 4 years working as an EAL teacher in Italy and a classroom teacher in London, England, before returning back to New Zealand to continue her educational career.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Ann worked in a variety of roles within the NZ Education system – as a curriculum and leadership advisor, a mentor teacher facilitator, a school inspector, and as a school principal for 8 years at Long Bay Primary School on Auckland’s North Shore.
Ann returned to the international educational environment in 2010, undertaking principal-ships in the Philippines, Thailand and Brazil. In August 2019, after four years at The British School in Rio de Janeiro Brazil, Ann moved to the principal’s position at Al Watan School in Abu Dhabi, as part of the new Charter Schools project. Ann is passionate about creating positive, collaborative and aspirational learning communities focused on continuous improvement. She is excited about the opportunity to develop Al Watan School into an outstanding provider of quality education for Emirati Students in Abu Dhabi.
