Having moved to the UAE from his native New Zealand, Mr. Brett Girven has more than twenty years of experience in education, with more than a decade in international schools in the Middle East and United Kingdom. Mr. Girven’s formative years were spent growing up on the beaches and in the waves of beautiful New Zealand, trekking through the pristine forests and sliding down mountains. Mr. Girven studied Environmental Science at post-graduate level followed by qualifying as a teacher, and eventually completing a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership.

Having worked in a range of schools focusing on the National Curriculum for England, most recently at Arbor School Dubai and Kings School Al Barsha, and now joining the leadership team at DBS – EH, Brett enjoys the opportunity to help students craft their pathway to a future as yet unknown, and is eager to continue the journey of excellence at DBS.
