Danielle Pinkerton earned a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Vanderbilt University and a Masters in Education Administration from Cleveland State University. In pursuit of a Ph.D. in Urban Education Administration, she conducted research and presentations at conferences and became a published author in the area of at-risk urban students.
With over twenty years in education, this will be her third international experience professionally having recently served as the Secondary School Principal for four years at the BQA “Outstanding” rated Riffa Views International School in the Kingdom of Bahrain and for three years in the same position at the prestigious Marymount International School in Rome, Italy.
Prior to her international career, Mrs. Pinkerton was the founding principal of two high schools in Savannah Georgia, and served as the Senior Director of Curriculum and Instruction for a large school district. She began her educational journey as a 4th and 6th grade teacher for several years before entering administration.
She believes that an educational experience should allow students to thrive intellectually, socially, and culturally. In order for a student to reach his/her full potential, Mrs. Pinkerton’s aim is to create an environment that celebrates risk-taking, inquisitiveness, and sharing of ideas. Students of all ages should be empowered to take control of their learning and self-advocate in times of adversity with respect and thoughtfulness. She strongly considers that each student should have a personalized journey in school surrounded by an empathetic and encouraging community. Mrs. Pinkerton is proud to be a part of the Dubai Schools project which fundamentally believes in excellence in educational opportunity for all and the development of future Emirati leaders.
